This Divesite is five miles west of Hale'iwa Harbour near Mokule'ia. It is a site for "Kahunas" - everything is enormous !
A massive bowl-shaped crater begins at 90 feet and tops out in 35 feet. The seaward half of the formation is missing, making the site very easy to navigate. Around the eastern side, the crate runs into a chasm, with large walls rising from the sea floor to form an underwater "Grand Canyon" extending 200 yards towards the shoreline. The walls are cut with caves and large pukas.
Everything is so huge around here - parrotfish, unicorn surgeonfish and ulua swim in abundance. Immediately after the winter storms, the site is a bountiful harvest of shells such as cowries, augers and mitres. Visibility is good here - so keep looking towards the depths.
